Treat Wheelchairs with the Respect and Care They Deserve
For wheelchair users, flying shouldn’t come with fear or uncertainty. Our wheelchairs aren’t luggage, they’re our mobility, our freedom, and our way of living.
We’re not asking for sympathy, just empathy and understanding. When airlines and baggage handlers treat mobility aids with care, they’re helping us live our everyday lives with independence and dignity.
I’ve already spoken directly with baggage handlers at Sydney Airport and will again, because real change begins with real understanding.
We’re calling for:
- Proper training informed by lived experience
- Respectful, safe handling every time
- Accountability when damage occurs
- Travel should feel liberating, not limiting.
Help to create an aviation industry built on respect, empathy, and equality.
